A presentation aimed at anyone considering working in a hostile environment; 19 March 2011, Manchester
This introductory workshop is aimed at anyone who might be considering working in a hostile environment - whether a conflict zone, a natural disaster area, or any area where there might be a risk to your personal safety.
Former soldier turned consultant and film-maker Adnan Sarwar considers the following:
- Intro - what is a hostile environment?
- Intelligence - how do you find out what you need to know about the place you're going to?
- Preparation - what do you need to do before you go? Including writing a security protocol checklist, vaccinations etc.
- Case studies - including when things went wrong, and where to find further information.
Note that this is an introduction only, and we strongly recommend that if you're planning to visit a hostile environment you follow up with further training. This workshop is intended to increase your chances of survival; however all hostile environments are dangerous and Redeye cannot be held responsible for any injury that may occur to you outside the workshop.
